The acoustic guitar (made of wood) is the instrument I use most often for songwriting and working out arrangements; all the songs on My Wooden Heart feature my acoustic guitar as the primary instrument used not only for writing but in the recordings as well. The phrase my wooden heart comes from a lyric in the Portishead song Only You. Elvis also has a hit by the name Wooden Heart, but whether or not the Portishead lyric was influenced by that song I do not know, I first heard the phrase in the Portishead song.

Tracks 9,10, and 11 are performances made for YouTube videos and now released here as acoustic versions.
The closing track, "Deed I Do, is a classic from the 1920s by Fred Rose and Walter Hirsch, it is the only cover in this collection.
